Barry R. Devone III currently serves at the Community Engagement Office for the Orange Public School District which serves over 5,800 students. In this capacity, Mr. Devone has created partnerships with over 50 community-based organizations, developed a community school social media strategy within the district and serves as the lead for the 21st Century After School Program. In addition, Mr. Devone facilitated the growth of the community school concept within the Orange Public School District by increasing participating schools from 2 during the 2014-2015 academic year to 4 in the 2018-2019 academic year, with 3 schools in the development phase.
Dedicated to serving the community, Mr. Devone has worked with the African American-Achieve Gap Panel for Montclair Public Schools, Montclair African American Heritage Foundation (Public Health Chair), Montclair NAACP (Executive Board Member), Board Member of the Junior League of Short Hills and the Oranges (JLOSH), and mentored many students in New York and Essex County NJ. Barry passionately believes every child has the potential to reach their full potential and good mentors assist them on the journey.
Mr. Devone holds a M.P.A from the Nelson A. Rockefeller School of Public Affairs & Policy. He also earned a B.A. with a double major in English and Africana Studies from the University at Albany.
