Dr. Tyree Oredein joined the staff of Garden State Equality in August 2018 after serving as Hudson Pride Center’s Health Educator & Trainer for 13 years. She develops and delivers LGBTQ+ Sensitivity & Cultural Competency trainings to administrators, educators, and social & medical service providers. She also develops and facilitates workshops to youth surrounding sexuality and sexual health, HIV/AIDS, self-esteem, healthy relationships, consent, education and vocation, media literacy, and social justice. Dr. Oredein also seeks to identify LGBTQ+ needs in the community and subsequently develop and implement strategies to close any gaps. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for Say Ah!, a non-profit agency dedicated to increasing health literacy, is an adjunct professor at Montclair State University, and sits on the Wellesley Racial Justice Initiative Leadership Collective.
